ARCHITECTUAL SPECIFICATIONS
Laminated or composite Shake-Like Shingles

The following are minimum requirements for new Laminated or composite Shake-Like roofing materials.
1. A roofing sample shall be submitted to the Riverglen Architectural Review Committee, before any roofing materials can be placed on any structure. Homeowner must have approval from the committee in writing.
2. The roofing material shall have the minimum of a forty-year warranty.
3. The roofing shall have a high quality architectural definition appearance.
4. The roofing material shall have the minimum thickness of 3/16 inch at the reveal portion (the lower part of the shingle that is exposed) to achieve depth and dimension of shake or tile like appearance.
5. The roofing material shall have a Class A fire rating from UL.
6. The roofing colors shall keep with the earth tone appearance. No bright colors will be allowed, red, blue, orange, etc.
7. No three tab or T-lock shingle will be allowed.
Examples of roofing materials that have been approved in the past (note: the manufacurers often change the shingles, a sample shall be provided to the ARC for review in all cases):
GAF Grand Sequoia Shingles
GAF Grand Canyon
Celotex Presidential Shake Shingles
Tamko Heritage Series must be a 50-year Shingle (note Tamko makes many shingles with a "50 year warranty" that do NOT meet minimum requirements for thickness of the reveal)
Owens Corning Woodcrest must be a 50-year Shingle
Gerard Stone coated steel
